Creative Director/Art Direction
What To Know: Ideation, education, and creation are the key pillars of what I do – developing strategically sound concepts, with client industry and customer in mind, to execute high-level creative that moves the needle and delivers results. And though that part of the job is extremely important, my true passion and focus lies within the growth and development of others. I believe that the most efficient and effective way to grow the creative product is by growing the creatives themselves. And well… that doesn’t just stop with my team. Outside the agency walls, I run a YouTube channel (Open Door Creative) that houses over 145 career-building videos and wrote a book (Breaking into Art Direction) aimed at helping aspiring creatives make their way into the ad industry.
Why I’m Qualified: I graduated over a decade ago from The University of Texas at Austin with a Bachelor’s degree in Advertising after making my way through the Texas Creative Sequence and studying Business Foundations from the McCombs School of Business. After college, I started my career with a three year stint at Screamer Co., a small shop in Austin, opening my eyes to every aspect of the business and working on a large portfolio of clients. I then made my way to TracyLocke and have been working on some pretty amazing brands like Samsung, Audi, la Madeleine, and FedEx Office ever since.
My work has won numerous National Addys and has been published in the Graphis Design and Poster Annuals. I’ve also been listed among Lurzer’s Int’l Archive’s 200 Best Illustrators Worldwide and was named one of Dallas’ 32 Under 32.
